Animal Behaviorist: Zamira Smith
Project Role:
As an animal behaviorist my job is to keep track of all the fish in our tank and document their health and behavior. I have to watch our fish daily and make observations of their behavior. I'm also in charge of finding out what other fish can live with the species and there environment in the wild so we can have the option of adding in more fish to our tank. |
Noticed Behavior:
One thing that I caught while obvserving our fish is that our tiger barbs were getting bloated on their stomach. This meant that they were stressed out. Tiger barbs are very agressive animlals and they like to chase eachother which causes stress. They use the tall plants to hide from one another. Also I learned that they like to travel in packs of 6 or more so then they won't be agressive which means we need to buy two more. One the right is an image of a tiger barb bloated. The tire track eel ended up dying as well. |
